
We are converting a brand new Lucas 25D 4 and 6, 35D8 and 45D 4 and 6 type distributor to suit your specific requirements.
Our distributors are designed to replace the original Lucas, Ford, Delco and Ducellier types fitted to the majority of British vehicles from the fifties onwards.Our large range is all brand new and although cheaper alternatives may be on the market you will not get better. We do not hold large stocks of our distributors because each unit is specifically built and tested to suit each individual requirement.
The distributors are available as standard points type systems or our WOSP high powered constant energy fully electronic systems. Our electronic distributor system has a powerful pick-up and amplifier built into the base plate and is all fully integral to the distributor.
A simple points or sports type coil is not powerful enough and our Lucas type ‘constant energy’ high powered coil comes complete with every kit. For an upgrade you can go for a Bosch type ‘resin filled’ coil (ideal for high vibration or rally applications).
This type of electronic ignition is to suit –ve earth vehicles only. For +ve earth applications we use an ignitor kit which is compatible.
We can also build our high power electronic kits into your own distributor, alternatively if you wanted to install electronic ignition on your own vehicle we have a range of ‘self-fitting’ kits which will convert most types of distributor with no major modifications required. This kit requires a standard points or sports type coil only and once again is only compatible with –ve earth cars. This system is easily converted back to points if required.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide the option for a tachometer drive on our own units. If your vehicle requires a tachometer drive on the distributor then we will have to rebuild your own unit. Most competition cars will use an electronic tachometer and it that instance these distributors are perfect.
We Supply a specially modified distributor for X-Flow race engines. The distributor is supplied with a side exit cap and is the shortest distributor on the market allowing the fitment of twin carb manifolds and still offering reasonable access to the distributor.
Prices quoted are for standard O.E. specification distributors with push-on vacuum connectors if your application requires a vacuum. We can either build a distributor to suit your specific requirements or you can choose one of the three different states of tune we offer in addition to standard at an additional cost.
Mild Road – Shortened and strengthened advance curve retaining vacuum capsule.
Fast Road – Shortened and strengthened advance curve with vacuum capsule removed.
Rally/Race – Further strengthened and modified advance curve with vacuum removed.
